Okay, I rebuild and the car run and than die, I took it to a shop to pin point the problem it’s not fuel but he said it might be bad compression and he ask if I bled down the lifters before I install them. Was I suppose to bled them b/c I bought new ones and I put them in clean engine oil for a day, any input is welcome

i doubt its the lifters...... they would rattle, but not make the car die.

check Crank Position Sensor, Ignition Control Module.........

x2....i put all new lifters in my 2.4 and didnt even soak them in oil first......it ticked like crazy for a minute, but after oil got to them, it purred like a .....cavalier.....

okay i'm on my way to az to buy an ICM b/c i tested 4 times at az and it fail each time only the SAT light was green, wish me luck

took it to 2 diff. az and it passed, that's not the problem Sunday i'm going to check the timing maybe the tensioner isn't working right???

took it down again and the timing did jump when the it's a tdc the cams are at 12 o'clock and they should be at 6 o'clock i know it was the tenioner that cause this now should i fix the timing and put it back together or do you believe the valves are bent? when i did the compression test it had ok compression but it would fall a little after awhile.

If you have good compression... then your valves are fine. If you lose compression (leak down test) then your rings are going...

If you jumped the chain enough to be out 180 degrees... damn boy!! You're VERY lucky you didn't kill all the valves. Buy a lottery ticket while you can!

sorry it took so long to reply just been working on putting it back together but: ge_forcez22 it did run for 2 seconds and then die, right now i'm trying to get it timed just can't get it right don't know if i should have the shoe on or not??
