Hey there guys,
3 weeks ago, I was driving and my battery light came on. I pulled over, checked the indicator on the actual battery and it was green. I started the car back up, and there was no light. 3 days ago, I was driving home, and my AC cut off. I heard it clicking on/off/on/off/on/off. It finally just quit. As it was clicking, I saw the lights on my dash blink/blink.
Today, I was driving to work and my radio cut out. Alpine 9856 with Sirius. No other stereo mods anymore for the past 7 months. I was like, crap, maybe a loose wire, short, or something like that. So, it came back on, went off, on/off/on/off. Anyway, after it came back on, then my lights on my dash started blinking, all of them.I pulled into, turned off the car, and let is sit for about 5 mins. I started it up again, and i heard "click/click/click/click/click"
I have the Big3 done. Ground from battery to car frame / power from battery to power of alternator / and ground of alternator to car frame.
Any help? I am thinking alternator as the indicator on the battery is still green.
Thanks,
Chris
I would get youre alternator tested at auto zone, Would hurt getting the battery tested too.
I would get it tested, however, the car won't start.
meh take em' home with you lol. go to a junk yard rip off an alternator and put it in yours. charge the battery and drive around your street for a bit to see if the alternator is actually charging the battery. if not, take back the alt. u bought from the junker ( just say it was the wrong one) and call a tower to take it to a mechanic. that's the best i can do since i can't physically see or hear the car while it ran.
option B: dissasemble the BIG 3 and connect the alt. normally and charge the battery n drive around to see if the alt is working. if not, theres ur problem, if it does, then u just hade some bad wiring (no offence to you) or the wiring was great but a wire is loose/dissconnected/shorting out.
hope that helps.
Thanks, I aprpeciate it.
I will be checking all that once I get it back to my casa.
