srry looked up sticky on turbo.. but superchargers? anything to advance the oooo 50hp from the kit? pulleys n what not?

Yes if you do go supercharger you can upgrade the pully to a smaller one to increase psi, also supporting mods like a header, exhaust, etc. Help with the power a supercharger gives. I'm sure theres a faq somewhere.... just too tired to look atm, lol...
currently i have a nx wet kit set at 75 hp spray
warm air intake
lower engine mount
short throw shifter
transmission mounts goin in in next few days
spinnin through 1st my best et is a 14.2 atm, soon gonna drop a lot more

Being that your car is an '01, if you've got $5K to play with, I'd say go with the GM Supercharger since you can use the GM reflash on it, then get HPTuners for fine tuning, and build the block. Even guessing on the high side you should still have at least $1K left at that point. You could get a new pulley and run higher boost with the S/C and see some pretty decent power, and it should be solid as a rock with the built bottom end. Hell, if you find you're still looking for a bit extra, with a built block and your remaining money, you could easily spray a 75-100 shot on top of the charger and, IMO, have quite a monster. That's what I'd probably do.

Turbo would be nice because honestly you can get more power from a turbo, however you would also have to customize your own kit and have the downpipe and such custom welded. If you could do that yourself, or could find someone who would, and you're after really big numbers (seems with the S/C and nitrous you'd probably top out around 350 whp), that would be the way to go. Depending on what kind of deals you find, turbo could be about the same cost as S/C, or could be a bit less...or a lot more (you can get the GM 'charger shipped from crateenginedepot.com for ~$1700 IIRC).
Regardless of what you do (turbo, S/C, or nitrous), I'd say your first step should be to build yourself a nice bulletproof block - pistons, rods, bearings, EVERYTHING. If by saying "if you had 5K to play with" you mean that's what you actually have available, pick up a spare block and the parts and have it built (or build it yourself if you can), and don't go cheap. You should still have plenty left over for whichever route you go. Do it right the first time and you'll never look back, I'm sure.

Exactly, make it that you will never have a problem with holding the power you wanna put down, then you can go with whatever you want to make whatever power you want, and from there the sky's the limit =)
