I have a 1600 watt sound system with a capcitor in the trunk, would it be a bad move to buy the rk sport underdriven crank? I have a yellow optima battery if that makes any difference?

RIP DAD<3 We love & miss you so much!
Some say, they get by fine...no problems....others claim to have dimming lights at idle, and at worst stalling at stop lights.
I never have ran an under driven pulley. So I can not tell you from experience....just what I have been told.
What I know for sure is your alternator will be putting out less amps, because it will be spinning slower.

I might be mistaken, but I believe that an alternator generally puts out more amps at lower speeds and more volts at higher speeds, so putting an underdrive pully on should actually increase amperage output. you would be reducing your voltage output, however, and probably your power (wattage) output. I think...
Also, with a capacitor, you shouldn't have to worry about the lights dimming, right? isn't that the point of the capacitor?
umm..your wrong..it puts out more volts and amps at higher revs..^^
A capacitor does "store" electricity to be taken out when you hit hard, but from my expirience on my other car, I have a 2400 watt (rms) amp (5000 watt peak), 2.4 farad cap, 2 batteries, and the highest output alt the make for that car, and I still watch my volt gauge dip just from turning on the turn signal. You can add more caps to help out....thats my next step.
But your alt puts out less of everything at idle, and since it is spinning slower, it will effect your stereo.
