i have been reading some of the articles about the ho manifold and some say it adds hp and some say it dosen't do much of anything so does it or am i wasting my time or should i just put on the 2.3 throttlebody becauuse i read that it would add power or would the ho mani and the ho throttle body add more power together thanks for clearing this up
i dont think it did anything for me. but the only real way to tell is for a dyno test before and after the swap. but no one has done that

I used a lo manifold and dropped .2 off my 1/4 times from just the manifold. I used a 58mm bored out 2.4 tb that I already had. I say its worth it for the money, though Im sure different people may have different results.
The LO manifold is enough, you don't really need the HO for anything unless your running a crap load of boost, even then it really doesn't matter much. If you expect to see anything, you'll probably wan't a larger throttlebody and maybee cams, but either way, it DOES flow better than the stock plastic one, and looks a lot cooler too, even though it doesn't add much if any HP by itself.
Has a better, louder sound when hitting WOT as well.

before i added the manifold my best time was 16.3 N/A. that was with a normal intake and engine mounts. since then i added a header, high flo cat, exhaust, and now this manifold. and im struggling to hit 16.5 most nights at the same track and i even take weight out of the car. i dont know if its the car, track, tires, or im not just getting the launch down right.
if would of known then what i know now, i would not have done the manifold swap

what are your 60's and where are you racing (elevation)
IMO, the HO manifold should be used in conjunction with at LEAST the secret cams and a full exhaust. ive never used it myself, but it's just sheer physics. the ho manifold was designed to work on a high reving high flowing 'high output' engine. the 086 head is a freaking GIANT when compared to the stock 2.4 head. the HO engine's revved to 7500 IIRC and the cams are MUCH larger than the stock 2.4's. you cant expect it to really do much if anything on a 2.4 because it was designed to be used with all the other parts. now, you slap on an 086 head and some bigger cams, i think then it would help much more.

That's odd,I ran a 16.7 with only a cold air intake, first time out in vert. no less. But maybe one day someone with extra cash will do the before and after mani swap dyno to actually answer this question about gains.
