so i blew the quad 4 in my 99z and iv been calling around for a new engine.. but im not sure what engines are compatible with my car..?? i kind of want a 2.2 eco out of an 03+ or newer but i talked to a guy at an auto wrecking company and he said this is not feasable.. iv heard from people here on jbo that it is though.. does it just take modification?
i found a really good deal on a 2005 2.2 eco engine out of a chevy malibu with 11k miles for $800.
im not sure what i should do i have tryed researching it but havnt came up with anything. any help would be appreciated. thanks.
You can do a 2.2 Ecotec but since you are a 99 you need lots of wiring for that swap. The quickest swap is another 2.4. Look for a 2000+ 2.4 with low miles. We usually find them for about $650-$900.

Any 2.4 from 96 to 2002 I believe... after that they cam with ecos.
