If a 2.4 Short Air Ram will fit on an ECO (with minor mod to bracket) why are 2.4's $30-$40 on EBAY and ECo $160 - $200?

i dont think a 2.4 intake would fit on a eco. main thing being the way the TB sits on both engines
that being said, i think a reason why 2.4 intakes are $40 and ecotec intakes are $160-$200 is that the 2.4 aint being made anymore. so companies who still have intakes for the 2.4 want to move them out and make room for more eco intakes

buy a K&N air filter. remove the "S" shaped plastic tube from your intake. attatch K&N filter to the end of the plastic intake that is already on your car. It's cheap and easy.

I'm thinking the same thing.. But you shouldn't be paying more then $40 in materials to make your own.

Check out http://store.airflo.com/ AirFlowOnline is the best resource that I've found for DIY intake parts.

You can get everything from those guys!
