I'm confused now (exhaust)

I went to start ordering parts for the exhaust and there are a bunch of Borla XS mufflers ( http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/501/borlazt5.gif ) all different stock numbers. I thought it would just be a universal thing for mufflers. I read the descriptions and they all pretty much say the same thing. Anyone know which # is for our cars? The hook-ups I'll probably be going with is:

Borla XS muffler 2.25" in/out
2.25" mandrel bent pipes
Magnaflow cat (the guy on ebay said it's not recommeded for my car, but I checked the stock # of the one that magnaflow recommends and it is for 1.8" tubing or something like that. So I'll just go with the 2.25" one and assume the only reason they recommend the other one is to fit stock exhaust size) it has a resonator in it also I believe
cherrybomb 27" resonator (to further get rid of as much raspy high pitch sound as possible)

I already have a OBX 4-2-1 header and think I'll probably end up using it since pacesetter doesn't make 4-1 (or anyone else I see) ... only thing that worries me is the O2 sensor is on the 2 tube instead of down further where they all come together.

edit - doesn't make 4-2-1

that's funny since I installed a pacesetter 4/2/1 on my brothers 96 2.2..... The set up we did on his car is (Front to back ) pacesetter 4/2/1 2.25 piping 2.25 high flow cat 27 inch cherry bomb more 2.25 piping, dual magnaflow cat back set up from RKSport...

As long as all your piping is the same diameter...it's all good. If you have to have something welded..it's not that big of a deal. the only thing you need to really worry about, is the header actually fitting the car, and the 02 sensors ( the fact that they need bungs ) and you have the right curves for the car(meaning it sits into the exhust tunneling and over the rear connections), if you met those requirements..the rest is just install and bolt up.

Sounds good, man. Looks like we're going with similar set-ups except for the magnaflow catback. I was told from two stores though that pacesetter does not make 4-2-1 for our cars. I guess it was wrong? but everytime I ask, they say it's 4-1. Even emailed pacesetter customer service (cuz the pictures are 4-2-1, but they said those are just stock pics not car specific).

ps- to clarify, my car is a 2200ohv, but I head the 95-02 2.2l whatever type all have the same header sizes anyway.

yeah..the all the 2.2's up till the eco (95 up) have the same header only real difference between the 2.2 ohv and the 2200 ohv is the intake if i'm not mistaking. As far as the 4/1 vs the 4/2/1 pacesetter..it's possible that they just are not making 4/2/1 set ups for those years any longer... But I know from personally experience that I bought and installed a 4/2/1 header on the car my brother has now. ( can get pics if anyone wants to dispute it...)

The 2200 and the 2.2 have different ports off of the head for the exhaust manifold. They will not match up.

I figured out what they stand for ... it's the internal path of the tube inside the muffler. Does it really make a difference? I'm thinking the straight would be best due to less path resistance ... but have no idea:

Thecav01 ... I thought there are a few guys on here who have put 95-97 header on a 98-02 ... are you sure they won't line up?

He may have actual experience with this, but as I understand it you CAN install a 95-97 2.2 header on a 98-02 2200 and vice versa but they don't line up perfectly and the exhaust flow may be somewhat disrupted as a result. Seems like a better idea to me to just play it safe and get the one made for your car.

thats what I meant that the exhaust ports dont completely line up.

Just thought I'd throw these pics up incase someone in the future had a similar question and searched. These are with the 95-97 OBX header and a 2000, 2200ohv header gasket. They don't appear to fully line up as said above, but I'm not sure how much wiggle room there is with the bolts. Anyway, here are some pics:

Holes lined up, you can see the bolt holes don't:

Has anyone had any trouble with their Pace Setter headers cracking? I have a '92 Mighty Max and Pace Setter was the only one making headers for them for a while and they have been known to crack with our trucks. Has anyone had any problem on their 2200? Also, does anyone know how the Monza exhaust system sounds? I was thinking of getting all of my exhaust system from the same place.

Also, if the Pace Setter headers are not the best, who else makes headers for the 2200 OHV? I haven't had much luck finidng any.

supercav says his pacesetter cracked too (he has a 2200 as well). On an interesting side note ... the gasket from the 95-97 header shown above actually fits perfectly onto the 98-02 pacesetter ceramic coated header I got. It leads me to wonder whether the 95-97 does infact fit our 2200's after all? Or if the 98-02 pacesetter does not fit exact either. Maybe that 95 OBX would fit like Grillrd etc said. Here are some pics:

98-02 2200 ceramic coated pacesetter header with the used gasket from the 95-97 OBX shown above (perfect fit):

98-02 pacesetter header with a 98-02 gasket ... does not fit perfectly like the previous gasket:

this is intriguing.

<edit>

what i would honestly like to see is someone who has both the pacesetter 95-97 header and the 98-02 header, and do a flange comparison, with the gaskets. i have a feeling there's more to this than meets the eye...
