2.4 intake on Eco?
Saturday, May 05, 2007 9:02 AM
I saw pics of this done in the photo forum and I had a few questions about it. How hard is it to put one of these on an Eco? And is there any performance gains from doin so like could you put a bigger tb on?

which manifold are you talking about? id say the stock eco frows better then the stock plastic 2.4TC manifold. now the 2.3 HO manifold might be a different story, but youd need to do alot of work. well, that is, if the head ports match up, which would be a suprise. then youd have to plug the fuel injector holes, since the eco has its injectors in the head. and, of course, youd have to redrill the mounting holes so it would bolt up. then theres the throttle body, youd prob have to modifly the manifold to accept the eco manifold. overall id say other than being unique, it prob wouldnt gain you enough to be worth the work. prob be better off going with the saab manifold, or just porting the stock one.

I beleive he's talking about an air intake ...haha..yeah I actually just ordered one for my 04 cavy..you have to cut off the little bracket that's supposed to mount it..but other than that..it should fit fine..

the bracket that bolts to the throttle body holding the throttle cable and the cruise cable, i cut just a small section off of it because there was a slight clearance issue with the 90 degree elbow. nothing major though. then i cut the bracket off of the new intake tubing because it wouldn't fit between the battery and the power steering pump with it on. the car is down for awhile right now so i will worry about permanently mounting the intake later. as far as performance, i haven't had a chance to take it down the road and see if its any snappier.

i dunno i thought the other post was refering to the intake manifold itself guess i was mistaken. i already have a wai on my eco thought maybe if the manifolds were interchangeable might be worth looking into. oh well thanks for your help.

the Air INTAKE will fit perfectly, the 2.3 intake manifold will fit with modification... which is better than using the 2.4 intake manifold
