Throwing in the Towel

car has been a pain for the last month or so. the ohv is starting to get a lot of miles on it 150k+. and now the tranny is having major problems, grinds in almost every gear. 1st works sometimes, most of the time it doesnt.

so im either going to be leaving the scene, or swapping in an eco and tranny. anyone want to point me which way is best. if i go eco im either turboing it or charging her. i just want it too be efficient and dependable.

id really hate to leave the scene cause i love my car.

well being that you have a 99..you might get lucky. Im currently doing it in mine. Now the lucky thing about the 99's is e are a bastard year with some having a 2000+ fuel system so that helps on the cost end but you still have to buy everything, interior harness, exterior harness, engine harness ect and then weld in new tranny mounts. Not hard, just more labor intesive. As for the isuzu shoot me a pm. Only thing that would be expensive is shipping i dont want this thing sitting around...phil

how do we know which fuel system weve got.

also i retract my previous stament its not my transmission its the damn shirt shifter ive had troubles with since day one. the thing doesnt pull the cable back far enough or at the right angle for the gear to engage so it grinds.

if anyone reads this dont ever ever ever buy a short shifter from ebay there nothing but hassle.

Nope thats the beauty of the 99's we get the large metal tank hehe but all the 2000 up stuff. Now look at your fuel filler hose. Is there one large and one small? then you got the early style the 2000 up has asingle 1" or so line....or get under the back nd see if there is abig black box above your axle..phil

if your car is paid for, swap in an eco. Car payments blow

don't give up on the 2200. so your tranny is fine then??? get rid of that pos shorty shifter and start saving for a rebuild if you are worried about the mileage.
