How much for a dyno tuning?

I am in Arizona, does anyone know where a good speed shop is and how much to expect to pay to have them tune my computer?

I dont have a lot of mods, just a 2 1/4 from the manifold back and a drop in K&N, but I know they can dial the car in to extract a few more horses. If the price is right, I will definitely commit.

I know, I have a lot of questions. But since I upgraded, I am looking to finalizing the motor aspect of this car first then rims and suspension later.

Shops usually charge around $180 per hour for tuning. How long it takes depends on how good they are. You should expect about 15-20whp gains from a good tune, even on a practically stock engine.

holy CRAP ur getting ripped!!!! when i had mine done 3 years ago it was 70 for an hour, and i got 3 pulls in.

buddy of mine paid i think $50 at a local shop in des moines and they screwed around with his car for like 3 hours.

it depends on the place, but daymmmm $180 is far to much.

3 pulls usually goes around 50-75 dollars around here..

if i want someone else to tune my car the local shops charge any where from $99-$150 per hour.. the better of the shops charge more
i just priced this out locally also most places charge 140-150 for tuning per hour. now the shop that charges 99, i'd never trust them with my car, but i use their dyno for tuning since i do it myself.. and at $75 per hour its not that bad

Ok here is my newb question of the month. I have yet to tune my car ever. So without HPT how do you tune your car on a dyno? I thought the only software out there for our cars was HPT? Do you need to bring your HPT to a dyno tune shop for them to properly tune your car?

70 an hour to TUNE, or just to do 3 dyno runs and see how much you were putting down... because I'd hazard to say its not likely that 3 pulls is enough for any decent kind of tuning.

well, since i had nothing for them to "tune" it was just the 3 pulls to see what the car had. BUT, they would have tweaked things for me if i had things TO tweak-they said it was included.

Most shops charge about $70 an hour to dyno. If you need to have them help you tune your own equipment, ex. AFPR's and such. Most likely they will help you for free. $180 an hour is where they hook up their equipment and tune your car for max power using the dyno. The shop I go to might charge a little more, as they double as a buick drag car builder, but the prices are in the same range as others.
