From what people have told me the NKG's are awesome. As for the splitfires, I'm not sure. But I say stick with what works.

Splitfires, Quad electrodes, they're all a joke. Electricity flows across the easiest path. If on one firing the easiest path is one fork then BAM! If it likes the other fork on the next firing then BAM! It doesn't care. I actually talked to a BOSCH rep at one of the auto shows and he couldn't honestly say why the four electrode plug would be better than one electrode. I came across a "free" set of Splitfires for my old Impala and the MSD ignition burnt them out within three months. I had a set of Bosch Platinums (standard single electrode) in the car for more than a year with the MSD with no problems.

I used exactly the same type AC Platinum plug that came out of the motor. Car runs awesome.

NGK x 3!

Stay away from platinum, though. Sounds like you had the right plug to begin with (NGK Iridium). $7 a pop, but worth it.

MSD says don't run Splitfires with thier box or in apps that regularly rev above 5500 rpm.

Think four things with plug selection: Brand, electrode properties dynamics and flame-front propagation, peticularly
with your app (the more upright and closer to center, the better.)

Best mileage, plug life and reliabilty when running a MSD system are had when the plug gap is left to factory stock
for the app. My case: 1989 Dodge Ramcharger FULL-SIZE 2-dr SUV w/ TBI pre-Magnum 318 (5.2L) 3-spd locking auto trans and
single lever in-cab selectable 2-range 4WD. 120 amp alt. All stock. Full 6AL system w/ the factory coil leads as the trigger, constant hot (BAT) lead to the alt bat term, .035 gap, nothing else. Result? 20% gain in
mileage, 35,000mi between Champion Truck Plug changes, and would start in half a rev from dead-cold.

Runnin' boost or spray? A harder electrode is the way.

Splitfrie quality has slacked-off badly in the last 10yrs I've used them. Go E3's on N/A factory ignition systems.

Go beyond the "bolt-on".
