2.3 mani. gaskets?
Friday, April 06, 2007 11:41 AM
I bought the 2.3 mani .and t.b. from an org. member awhile ago and it came with the Fontana flange adapter and one 2.3 gasket#90573.I know that one 2.3 gasket stays normal and one gets modified to fit the 2.4 head. But the previous owner had started to port match the 2.3 mani to fit the 2.4 head and slot the holes so can I just finish the port match job and what gaskets besides the adapter flange would I use. Thanks ,I am an easily confused person

ok I think I've got this, installation would go like this right? From the 2.4 head, put new 2.4 gasket on,then Phenolic adapter flange, then 2.3 gasket that I have modified for the 2.4,then 2.3 mani port matched to the 2.4 ,right???

head.2.3 gasket modded for the 2.4 head>adaptor flange>2.3 gasket>manifold

Yeah,
You're gonna be using all 2.3L gaskets now.

if thats the case, you just need the 1 intake gasket in between the head and manifold but you still gotta mod the intake gasket to match the 2.4 ports

would I still use the adapter flange?I was thinking of taking it to a shop and have them port match, deck it and do a port job on it.How much do you think they(a shop) might charge for something like that?

if the ho manifold has been port matched to the 2.4 head you do not need the adaptor flange, the adaptor flange is for those who want the HO manifold on their car without porting and such
