i know there is a formula for figuring this out but if somebody already knows i would apreiate it i just dont have the patience to search it all down . we are trying to figure the comp ratio of my motor its a 2200 bored 30 over , 9:1 comp pistons but the head is shaved 20ths ,block 10ths and the head gasket is 30 ths 10ths smaller than stock soa total of 40ths . im just curios what this does to the ratio ? any help is appreciated .

just a though, I used 9:1 pistons, and the 0.030" head gasket and my piston to head clearance was 0.024-0.026 and I just kissed the head at 5400rpm... what is your piston height?
HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED
Assuming those are stock dimensioned pistons, your clearance went from ~.079" to .044" (.010 for block,
.025 for gasket), you're fine there. Since your head has been shaved, you would have to measure the chamber volume before you could calculate your CR.

^^^ nice, problem solved.
jamesn29 - you can google dynamic compression ratio, and find some really good calculators. You will need to know the specs on your intake cam too.

thanks ill see what i can come up with
