Does anyone know where the wire hooks to the oxygen sencer for my A/F gauge? I have a 01 Z24 2.4L.
It hooks to the purple wire on the first O2 Sensor.
I ONLY HAVE ONE WIRE ON MY FIRST SENSOR?
WAT COLOR IS THAT WIRE.......ITS PURPLE!!!!!!! now u put the puzzle together

Sorry caps was stuck on last post! Seeming how i have a header that came with a O2 the wire is black.. But i use the first O2 before the cat right?
not to make anyone feal bad but if your a/f guage is one of those ones with the leds that sweep back and forth its just gonna be there to look pretty
Working on obtainting an M-Class license... ?? Hint: 2 wheels.
why will it only be there to look pretty?

because it doesn't tell you the actual A/F ratio. It just bounces back and forth from lean to rich, hence just a pretty light...
It is essentially a "riced out" voltmeter

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
yeah thats what mine did...and will do again when i hook it up...when you're driving normal is just smashes back and forth and then goes to rich when you stomp on it...hardly matters to me..its there to fill a hole in the gauge pod till i get a better o2 sensor lol

You guys seem to forget that before there were wideband kits, these were all we had.
They're not as good, but they still serve a purpose and give you a general idea of how your engine is using fuel. It will still be a useful early warning tool to know when there are problems.
Under normal operation, there's not much to it, but if something is wrong and the gauge isn't reading what you expect it to under the conditions you're in, then you'll know there's an issue and can look into it.
Mine does the opposite it goes to ideal under heavy acceleration and stays 2bars into the rich while the car is at an idle..
now what if ur 02 is not hooked up to the car can u still tap the purple wire on the 02......it will still get the same reading correct?....
