can a swap between a 96 2.2 and a 97 2.4 be done with relative ease? i am trying to get my car back on the road and i found a 2.4 with brain box for 150. my only questions are, are the mounts the same, and will the computer and harness work or will i need a new connector?

the 96 is a weird year. it had a different computer in it than all the rest, and will most likely need to be completely rewired to work with the new computer. you'll also need a 2.4 trans, as the bolt pattern is different from the 2.2 . of course, you'd also need the 2.4 flywheel/clutch or flexplate/torque converter. looking at pictures i have of both engines, the top mounts are different, im not sure about the bottom mount.
