i have seen these things on ebay and on tv electric turbos do they really work at all.i think it is kinda funny and so do my friends but seriously do they work at all.
The funny part is that they would work, put a pair of them in parallel on a Geo sprint and you might just see some boost

What is like the best turbo to get for my car? (89 sunbird) that will get some good boost #s like 18ish PSI, and be reliable and everything.. thats a REAL turbo, not electric lol, thanks

Obviously they would not be selling them if they didn't work. Not to mention, you can easily rig up a boost control with one of those variableslider light switch. I have two of them mountedon my center console for each turbo, if my battery starts to run low, I just side it back and use less turbo. I'm getting a alternator out of a Chevy Big Block 350 next week so hopefully I will be able to let both turbos spool at full speed for now on.

theres no such tihng as an electric turbo. turbos are only powered by exhaust gas

there are electric chargers that actually work, but they are not what you are thinking of. The ghetto ebay ones are just an obstruction to the intake flow. Even if you did get the real one, you have to charge a half dozen batteries every time you use it. Its more like nitrous then boost.
Lol, anyone have a suggestion on a good real turbo for my car?? no one has answered me!!!

hope your doing LOTS of other work, stock 2.0 won't support 18psi.
watch for flying sparks!!!
what about a leaf blower? i always wanted to try that one on a beater!
the electric turbos work well it depends on where u get it and how much air it can but out like ethe ones from JC Whitney they work and u just hook them up to a 12 volt source and your good to go and they are like 300 bucks i beleive they prolly give u around a 20 horses 30 on a extreamly good day and u can just wire it up to a switch turn it on wen u wanna use it.

Don't buy the one from JC Whitney they are total crap, this guy obviously doesn't know what he talking bout, you need to go with the only Electric turbo certified by the .org Yes I know you have seen the advertisements and its true, IT REALLY WORK, you will gain over 100 RWHP at the flywheel just make sure you have large enough grounding wires to the battery or the turbo will not get the proper juice, I also reccomend a Deep Cycle Battery or hooking up several Optima Red Tops in series because you want to give that thing all the juice you can get. Here's some Dyno results of the Turbonator on my car.
