anyone have a bigger throttle body on their 2200, and if so is it worth it. Noticeable gains or what?
It did give a noticablle gain....but i lost some low end for more top end. I got a 62mm one.
Stick with the HO Swap, its only a 56mm,(i think) which with or without the head port you will feel gain. Also considerably cheeper, but you need to know how to fab it a bit to get it to fit (mine definatly wasnt just 'bolt on')

so is the one that will just bolt on for example the 2.3 HO like cavy freak has...?
the 2.3 throttle bodies don't just bolt up. There is a little modding required to do it. I haven't done one so i'm not sure, but the information is on here.
I have one all modded and ready for a bolt on for sale..pm me..phil
the cable wheel, on mine the vacuum doesnt have to be t'd off the throttle able braket doesnt fit so you have to cut it..phil
Not to bring alive a dead thread but I have a question and can't find an answer. I would greatly appreciate a link or helpful advice. I have already done all the modding for this to fit and work properly... Well somewhat the only issue I'm have is the pedal feel wich I know is because of the throttle cable. The positioning on my stocker throttle bracket the part that turns the butterfly. Is slighty different in the degree and I can't seem to find proper adjustment one way it's holding the throttle plate open or the way I have it and it is good through low throttle but once I go WOT it seems my pedal is gone and opening too fast maybe. it just doesn't seem like I have as much pedal. By the way this is going from the stocker 02 2200 to the 2.3 tb
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Before the wheel broke on mine, I had the same thing. Its because of the difference in the wheel shape. You can just bore out your stock throttle body to 56mm and use the 2.3 butterfly
Yeah after a while of digging and a helpful link I found your suggestion to be the easiest and most effective way of doing the mod.
Thank you for the advice. headed over to the machine shop now.
Well got the stocker bored but know the issues I was having with the 2.3 tb are gone seems as if the car just "learned" the part but I seem to have lost some top end any ideas. And sorry for the double post.
