Possibly running rich

Hey guys, got a question i was searching around and not exactly finding what i needed, So here goes. I installed my new header a few weeks back and it took a couple weekends to get it nice and tight. It is fine, amazes me how loud it makes it though. Anyway I was heading somewhere and i was in a bit of a rush so i was getting on it a little. A buddy of mine just happen to be behind me and when we stopped at a light he said it smelled quite rich. I know that the computer takes a little time to adjust and i am probably going to disconnect the battery tomorrow. It has had plenty of time though. I am thinking on getting the fuel system pressure checked and getting the injectors clean but i got to tell you, my gut is saying o-2 sensor or the cat. By the way its not throwing any CEL's. I was just hoping to get your guy's opinions on this.

as you stated you were in a rush and getin on it. when you do that you just dump fuel in the cylinder, if you don't have an ignition upgrade or enough air in the cylinder you aren't going to burn it all. i think you anwsered your own post. duh gas pedal means more gas.

Well, I knew that, but i don't think it would cause the car to smell rich when at a stop. Asides that I have been told by quite a few people that it stinks (the exhaust).

I would make sure their is not exhaust leaks around the O2 sensor bung. Even the slightest exhaust leak will pull in fresh air and the O2 will see this air and think the engine is running lean. To compensate for this false lean condition the 02 sensor will tell the computer to command more fuel, causing the engine to run rich.
