In an effort to figure out why my car lost a whopping 25HP at the dyno this summer, I've been running a bunch of diagnostics as of late.
I hooked up a vacuum gauge and when accelerating (say 1000 to 3000 to get up to driving speed) my vacuum reading goes to 0.
I think this is worn rings, am I wrong?
Also, how much is that gonna cost?
the proper way to check for worn rings is a compression test or leak down test
the manfold vaccum will drop when you crack the throttle especially WOT
Was it a hot day that you dyno'd?
Was it high humidity?
Was it the same dyno you used the first time?
Did you have a check engine light or SES light?
There are a lot of reasons your two dyno's could be 25hp off, I wouldn't go tearing into the engine just yet.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
at WOT engine creates no vaccuum..
......um. Every one is being too nice.
First, read some BASIC books on theory of the internal combustion engine.
Then
Think.
I would have to say there is nothing wrong, besides maybe, bad gas, dirty air filter, or a loose nut behind the wheel.
---sorry that was mean.
But really, unless there is a drivability issue, you’re golden.

Hmm.
From what I've learned, it seems like it shouldn't drop down to 0 but more like 3 or so. Maybe I'm wrong. Probably
Anyway, it's idling at about 15"
Idle should be around 20" of HG, at WOT you want to get ZERO IE atmospheric presser, anything less is robbing power,
Really, get a book and learn it if you really want to play with gauges and worry.
Otherwise just drive it.
