i just got done saving up over $350 to do some much needed maintence on my car, such as tires, brakes, changed all fluids and greased her up.
finally get all the sqeaks and sqeels to stop and right after i just finish doing everything, i take her out a little test ride on some back roads, i come up past a brick mine and there is half of a red brick in the middle of the lane and i think nothing of it just keep drivin right over it and i heard a lound bang bang and then raspy kind of hissing noise,
so im like aww wtf did i do this timme to i hurry up and stop on the side of the road and shut the car off to see wat was up and everything looks good so i start it up and immediately i notice a difference in the exhaust so i looked under again and notice how low exhaust was hanging and so look up at the flex pipe and the mesh around it is torn off and i can see large split in it
so im real pissed i have little to no cash and my car is really running like Sh!t its way slower it just feels totally sucks to drive and i need to do sumthing about this can anyone help

Wow, sucks to be you the only thing I can think of is go the an exhuast shop and get a new flex tube put on. My friend had to get one on his 97 Tiburon and it was like $50.00 when all said and done.

im so sick of this car and driving a stick everyday im hurtin for money and the last thing i want to do is put more money into it.. this deffinatly sucks b/c i still have to drive it everyday and its probably getting worse and worse im suprised no CEL... but as if it wasnt slow before now its noticeably wayy slower now
Well, you need to get it fixed because your going to burn up your valves and that is very bad. Probably very expensive as well not sure never had to replace them.

you won't burn your valves. Don't worry about it untill you get the money for it.

mine just started to break off the pipe too...and mine only has 57k on it...dont feel bad...get a header!!

Same thing happend to me. I just welded it up from the inside till I got my header. Take it to a muffler shop and ask if they can just weld it up for now till you get the header and you will bring it back to them to put the header on. Just some incentive for them to do the work.
your car feeling like balls is mental, i doubt theres a serious performance loss with the flex pipe being damaged, remember some cars dont run much of an exhaust, and they are high performance..
i had mine go out while passing in front of a police station one day, ended up driving 3 miles in rush hour traffic to the exhaust shop. they did it in 2 hours and that included a 45 minute drive to there warehouse to get a new flange and flexpipe. but because i pushed them to hurry up, i had to get to work i payed about 160 for it since they skipped other customers for me, kinda stinks though i got to cut it out when i get my header
i can deffinatly feel how much slower it is during "spirited" driving, i dont have a tach but im guessing any higher than like 3500 -4000 it does not pull no wear near as hard as before, the speedo doesnt jump like it used to 20 mph in 1st.. only thing thats weird to me is that i went up a hill in my area in 4th that normally cruise up in 3rd
idk my unc got a welder he would prolly do it there is a small "junk yard buildin up" there and we might be able to a flex thats usable it just takes 40 min to drive there and drivin this car sucks the god damn seats sqeek, exhuast rattles like a mother, no muffler on pipe and huge exhaust leak at the flex
and im sick of driving a stick in traffic everyday

mine is on its way out but i did not think it would really make that much of a diff hmm maybe i will have to look into getting that fixed

if i had the F'n money i would trade it in and get a 4wd truck for winter, considering the drive way at my new house is like a 45 degree incline and with some ice the cav aint makin it up
i cant even trade my 2001 cav straight for a 1995 olds bravada with same miles as my cav b/c its not worth anything at all
oh and for the record ive had the bosch's in my car for like a year and the day i split my flex i checked them and they are still clean and firing just perfect so idk wat u guys are talking about
