Or you could boost it. Much easier than rebuilding your engine, and it'll make more power.

This is a list to help those who dont want to do the work themselves or want simple alternative to getting better performance out of there ecotec. not suggested as the best way to go. give people some insight at what it may cost if they plan to get high HP.

Manta Part's build up and prices for built up ecotecs.

1# is

2.2 Ecotec Turbo/SC engine- this is a completely built engine-with forged lower compression pistons, billet rods and race quality internals. Full headwork and HD turbo cams and valve train. HD oil system mods and
setup for a turbo drain down incorporated into the block already. It is ready for your manifolds and turbo or SC- this is a bullet -proof engine! This is the same engine Gm is making 1000+HP with and is a great engine
fora turbo/SC project or a kit car conversion too. (We can provide a RWD bellhousing for them now too) $3750 + truck frt.

2#is

Version four- OP2200P- sports engine with forged pistons (with NA or boosted compression ratios available), billet rods, mild head work & cams, ported intake manif. & sports pulleys & flywheel. (headers optional depending on boosted or NA application)- $4,500 & up + truck frt.

What i asked manta part:
Is the added price because of #2 because of the intake manifold, sport pulleys, and fly wheel? Other than those extras is it relatively the same built up engine? Do the engines come also with the copperhead gasket?

His respoonse:
Yes- they are the same basically, and we can make them to your specific specs. Yes we use the factory turbo gasket from Gm, not an aftermarket. If you plan high boost you should consider o-ringing also. Let us know if we can build you up an engine over the Winter, thanks Mantapart

Build up of the engine includes labor.

then add on turbo kit from Team Vision Racing

Stage 1 Turbokit for Ecotec motor
$2,495.99

Boost: 5 PSI
HP: 180 Wheel Horsepower
Estimated installation time: 10 Hours
Motor modifications needed: NONE!!
Kit includes: TD05-16G-10CM2 Turbocharger, manifold, intake and piping, fuel system, oiling system for turbo, blow off valve, all installation hardware, gaskets, couplers and clamps.

Stage 2 Turbokit for Ecotec motor
$3,895.99

Boost: 6-8 PSI
HP: 235 WHEEL Horsepower
Estimated installation time: 12-14 Hours
Motor modifications needed: NONE!!
Kit includes: TD05-16G-10CM2 Super 16G Turbocharger, manifold, downpipe assembly, front mount intercooler (24x6.5x4.5) with inlet and outlet piping, air inlet system with filter, blow off valve, larger fuel injectors, high volume fuel pump, fuel injector control unit, all installation hardware, gaskets, couplers and clamps.

$6245.99 to $8395.99 Rough Estimate on engine alone with the said setups. You still need to upgrade the suspension, brakes, various other parts.

practically throwing $10,000 to your cars engine without doing the work yourself. It you do it yourself you can most likely knock off $5,000 or more, if you know what your doing and know where to get deals on parts.

just some food for thought.

forgot to also mention the about the estimates dont include the cost of going to a dyno, getting it tuned, tuning yourself, upgrading the transmission to get the new power to the ground, and so forth. Speed HP/TQ = $$
