what di people thing of jbp's cams are they good cams or are there others out there that are better
kind of expensive i think. get some from level zero motorsports
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
People swear by them, and I don't doubt them, but for $700 I don't know...I would rather spend far less on getting H.O. cams and getting them modified to work for the LD9 (2.4L). Just my $.02.
or go to level zero and get the cams for nearly half the price.
I've been hearing some horror stories about JBP lately too...
Yeah i did the 2.3 (secret) cams in mine like everyone was saying and they seemed to fit perfectly and from what i hear they have the same specs as manta parts cams. Not to mention i got em both from the junk yard for 70 bux.
I got the stage 2 cams about 2 years ago when they were $532 US. God they sound awesome!!!!
I was looking at there eco cams, they sound good.... if you look at there stage eco cams...
"REDESIGNED, RE-ENGINEERED and **GUARANTEED** results. Our new generation of JBP ECOTEC cams are unleashed: The Stage 3 No Codes, MORE power, different grind. Now you can have the same results as the 2.4L LD9 guys. Actual specifications at this point are a trade secret. Worried about valve-to-piston touching with your custom build? Give us your build specifications, we'll calculate mathematically your clearances.
Stage 3: No Codes, ECM Friendly, 19-23WHP!!!"
$629.10 and there is a $100 core charge so thats makes it $729.10 for the cams with is alot of money when they are "guaranteed" but they don't tell you what the gaurantee is. They also don't tell you a power band .
LevelZero has there stage 2 eco cams that say 15 whp and there have the triflow cams that don't list any power gains.
there cams are $500+ $100 core
then there is comp cams.....
for $450 you get the cams brand new not a regrind, you can chose steel or aluminium shafts plus its form an extremely reputable company
lol, imo i'd trust jbp over level zero anyday. search away to read about level zero and they're "rep" around here in the past year or two.

i wish i never took mine out, i had so much more top end
14.728 @ 92.14 (65 shot)
levelzero released a set of cams that the eco ecu had trouble with, they dyno tested it on a local guys car and saw like 15hp.... unfortantunatly, very few people could get the cams running without issues.
If you like taking it up the ass, sure go buy JBP.... if you want to pay reasonable prices, go elsewhere.
People can bad mouth LZM all they want, but a level zero built motor is at the top of the all motor ecotec top 10 list
Dont buy from JBP - he'll screw you over like he's done 8 people this year - have built motors, crappy workmanship, parts that are breaking randomly (cracked intakes). This year alone, he's cost more j-body owners time and money than I have ever seen by one shop.
STAY FAR AWAY FROM JBP !!!!!!!
two of us have had motors built that were supposed to be done in april, both were finished in september because of bull@!#$ excuses. so far i havent had an issue with my motor. so far. idle witht he turbo cams is fantasic though, sounds sexy as @!#$.

Again, where are you hearing this?
Those that have been screwed are people I know:
JBO members:
Sweetness GT
Judgez24
V6Z24 Members:
Ginobeats
Sh8kin
Cobalt SS.net members:
Distillion
I seen his work and lately, I wouldn't be caught dead buying anything from him. Up here, JBO is getting to the point of being the new RSM for j-body owners (nothing but B/S and garbage products).
you guys havent even heard half the story, the motor wasnt built to how we discussed and how we had written down on paper, there was work done that i didnt want done and there were parts not in the motor that should have been. regardless ive already had the motor apart and replaced the missing parts. and the fact he charged me about 1600 more than what we originally agreed to. claiming to not have pistons until june when i braught him a motor in november, claiming to have been waiting on balance shafts until sept when i finally said @!#$ it put mine back in and im coming for my motor. its been nothing but headaches. i guess thats what happens when he blows all the money thats given to him as deposits on @!#$ other than the parts he should have.
hell i was told about a month prior to picking up my motor that it was assembled and jsut waiting on balance shafts, and when i went in there there was nothing done, just machine work. my parts were all in boxes and the head was completely bare. so yeah, hes never gonna get another penny out of me and i will never promote his shop, neither will chris luis and im sure nelson wont either. plus the many others who have not been satisfied with him. hell his prices are far too expensive. i went to him because ive known him for years and figured id put money into his pocket. when i talked to a local machine shop that bulds 1000+ hp motors they told me my motor would have cost me about 3 grand less through them
