Hey guys im a new guy to the site, just recently bought my first cavalier a 2002 with the 2200 SFI engine in it. I am very confused about which parts will fit my engine. I see that AEM makes a lot of intakes for the cavalier and i am confused if the cold air intakes or any ram's will fit my engine. I drive a standard.
I was told by some local car shops that not many parts are available for this engine, so i signed up to this site because i know you guys all have experience an dknowledge on these subjects. If anybody has the 2200 SFI engine and has some intake mods if they could PLEASE let me know which ones will work for my car, cold air or ram intakes. Part numbers would be a huge bonus.
I am also confused about the engine code for the car. The papers from the dealership say that the 2200 SFI engine is an L4 but i have also seen many others called LN2..
any help would be hugely appreciated.
immortal_visions@hotmail.com is my e-mail if you wish to e-mail me directly or you can just reply here. thanks so much guys.
Ryan
L4 means "inline 4", as in 4 cylinders.
LN2 is the engine code.

ok, now the next question i have is, are there 2 different versions of the 2.2L engine? Because some sites show parts for the 2.2L MFI engine and some for the 2200 engine, ahhh so confused.
perfect... thanks alot.
so pretty much any performance part for the 1998 2.2L engine will fit the 99'-2002 models?
At the AEM site they give you the choice for the 2.2L and 2.4L engine to choose an air intake... since my car is a 2002 cavalier with a 2200 engine in it, are they referring to that 2200 engine on the site or are they referring to the 2.2L 97 and older engine?
They may be referring to the 2200 (since it is technically a 2.2 liter). Best bet would be to send them an e-mail asking if it is for 98+ Cavaliers w/ the 2.2
98+ will interchange, I believe that in 2000+, the only difference is no EGR...
