Car Runs Normal Until It Reaches Temp

I just bought a Sunfire with the Gm Supercharger kit on it. Ever since i bought it, the car runs amazingly well ever since I put a new coil pack in it. But now all of the sudden it runs great when I first start the car, and will rev and drive normal. As soon as the engine reaches normal running temp, that all changes. The car seems to be stumbling on acceleration. It makes somewhate of a gargling noise but will rev up to red line it just takes a lot longer to get there. This noise may be somewhat like a popping noise and is deffinitley not correct. I know the exhaust is all wrong the person who i purchased the car from had the exhaust all wrong at the y pipe he left about a foot of pipe on the passenger side the just capped it off and the on the other side he ran the exhaust out throught a turbo muffler. I think maybe that could be backfeeding the engine. I was just wondering if that could be the problem or something else. Thanks Josh

It is not the exhaust, sounds like a sensor or something. Maybe a TPS. Is the check engine light on? Need to get the car hooked up to a scanner and read the sensors.

Sounds like it is screwing up when it goes to closed loop operation. You say the exhaust is modified... are the O2 sensors okay?

check O2 sensors and Coolant temp sensor

I had the same problem it was my 02 sensor. prolly your problem to considering it was working fine with the same exhaust setup before hand..

Well I looked at the first o2 sensor, the one that is on the exhaust manifold and it was loose. I was able to take it out with my hand and with little force. It was so loose that i would move around an wobble. The whole cover is off of the top of the sensor where it is supposed to block straight exhaust gas. Also on the wire coming from the o2 sensor it was spliced into with a terrible cold solder. I think the o2 sensor is just bad to. The thing is it is not throwing a check engine light, wouldn't the light usually come on if there was a bad o2 sensor. Also I was wondering how to check the coolant temp sensor and I was wondering where it is located. I am guessing it is in the reservoir, but I am not sure. Thanks Josh

cold solder joints will give a weak signal to the computer, so the computer thinks its still working, even though its not working right.

I'd replace that first. If that doesnt solve the problem, then you need to find the coolant temp sensor, usually near the upper radiator hose, and get a test meter and read its resistance output, then compare to a chart, which can generally be found easily enough if you search the net.
