only "chip" is HPtuner software. i think its $650 for the pro version. and you will need a laptop to run it.

a set of cams will help too
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Exactly how much did that run you for what you're getting done? And what all are you having done to it?
Make sure they put a new check valve in while they are in the motor.
hey whats better then alot of horsepower?
even more
First off, there is this thing at the top of the page called a sticky, and I beleive there is one about ecotec engine build. So I'm pretty sure if you read that you will learn alot. Second there is a thing called a search button, I know I know it is way easier to just post a new topic and let people do all the work for you. Because that is the American way most of us are to lazy to do the work ourselves. I'm not saying posting a new topic is bad I'm just saying do the research before you post a topic. And from the way you started off you did no research I can tell. Last but not least if your car is going into a shop and you are promised 250-270 hp N/A then you are way head of most of us on this site and should not be asking questions. Because there is no way to get 250-270hp with his bolt-ons. After your internals are forged you are going to need some kind of power adder like turbo/SC or nitrous. Correct me if I'm wrong because I am after all at 2.4 guy and he is asking about the Ecotec.
In the planning stage for an all American TRD Cavalier.
