Exhaust issue, any sort of threadlock to fix it?
Monday, October 23, 2006 10:26 AM
I keep having all these issues with my exhaust, the bolts keep coming loose where the header meets the pipe;

I understand that this is an issue with J's, but I am curious if there is anything like Loctite or antiseize kind of things that will keep those bolts in, but won't melt with the heat?

If not is there any other suggestions for fixing this? Not just delaying the problem.

the nuts on the studs at the head ? < id get new nuts from gm they are crimped nuts so they are self locking

or the 2 bolts at the flex section of the header ? <<<< uses crimped nuts also , hardware store they are 3/8" x 16

also you can double nut the bolts on the flex section of the header , you make the first nut tight , then run the 2nd nut on , use a wrench to hold the first nut , then tighten the 2nd nut to the 1st nut
