First off I posted this in audio & electronis but for some reason nobody answers it, so I'm going to see if anybody know where I could find a 2" Fuel Gauge for a Pillar Pod? The fuel gauge in my 97 Z24 does not work ever since I put my reverse glow gauges in. (Never doing those again) I bought a fuel gauge from an autoparts store that worked with "most" Chevy vehicles but of course it would not work on mine. Any ideas where I should look for a 2" Fuel Gauge? Or perhaps any ideas as on how to fix my stock gauge? Just so you all know the white gauges are not touching the needle, and I did not pull the needles off to put it on. And if I could I would take the white gauges off but the instructions told me to peel off my original overlay. (Later on figured out that I did not have to take the original off.) So the white guages are stuck on, and I really don't want to put another gauge cluster in because I think that is illegal because it is tampering with the odometer. Not quite... you just have to mark on the inside of the driver's door something like "cluster replaced @ X miles -- starting mileage = X"
That way its documented that there is a variance in the milage.. now if its w/in a couple thousand, either way... that's your call.
As for the fuel gauge question, yes, there are gauges that fit in pillar pods for fuel. Just look up your fav manufacturer and have at it.
Ok thanks for the head up, I looked around a bit but there seems to be alot of custom work to get a new fuel gauge to work with our cars. Guess I just have to suck it up and spend a day putting one in. I'll look around harder for companies that make them to work with our cars.

You can do a gauge cluster swap and keep you original odometer, see the
Gauge Cluster Swap How To from NY J-Bodies.
As for the fuel level gauge, this swap shuold fix it, as long as it's the gauge itself. If it's not it could be the feul level sender or the wiring harness.

Ok, next question that I have is does anybody know what the Ohms are for I'm guessing the fuel sender for a 1997 Cavalier Z24? Is it between 40-250 Ohms? And with our fuel tanks full is the sender at 90 Ohms? Here is a gauge I was looking
at getting.

That is why I asked for the Ohms, because the gauge I bought at O'Reillys said the same thing. They told me it should work with my 97. I don't know I'll probably buy it Autometer has been around for a while and I'm sure they have better product that O'Reillys autoparts lol.

I'd just do the gauge cluster swap and save the pillar pod for other gauges.
Well, I'll keep my eyes out for one that will fit a 97 Z24 Auto. My local junk yards are horrible and never have any cavaliers in. Thanks for everybody's help and info.
