Possible L67 swap donor car

Anyonbe know if this car would make a good donor car for my L67 swap?

Today I found a 2000 Buick Park Avenue Ultra with the VIN 1 L67... hit in the rear, not that bad actually... It's got 86,xxx miles on the drivetrain... engine very clean, looks mint! They want $2000 for everything... the entire car if I wanted it... but I'll just grab what I need and run with it.

I would be swapping the entire drivetrain, computer, cluster, axles, entire car wiring, etc... into my Cavalier.. so it would think it's a Buick Park Avenue. I'll have to drop a few things, like the tire pressure monitors since those won't swap over... (or will they? ha ha ha!)

The only thing I've noticed so far... is there's no dogbones on the front rail, it's a "B" motor, which is mounted from below... so it's different than all the GTP and most other "A" L67 motors, but only in mounting points... maybe the oil pan too... right?

Comments? Suggestions?

...j

Make sure it has an M90 supercharger and not an M62. M62's are pieces of @!#$.

John, its what you want, go grab it up!

Brads (DoubleZ) mounts are made with no dogbones anyway, so it doesn`t matter.

Uhhh... that's a pretty bold statement!! The latest generation M62 is what's used on the Cobalt SS S/C... I dread to hear what you think of the M45 used on the 2.4L and 2.2L Ecotec GM supercharger package Any blower is better than NO blower... heh..

The M90 was the only blower used on the 3.8's... so yes, it's got one of those. For now... it's a Gen 3 M90... I'm either going to go Gen 5 M90, or M112... we'll see

Thanks Isaac My buddy failed me on the 03 with lower miles... oh well... I'll grab this one...

I think it was pre-97 that used the M62 blower.

But, all in all, I think it would be a good swap. As far as the mounts, you'll probably have to get custom with those anyways, so that's no big issue. And we all know what Raven did to the radiator support with the top mounts. heh. The Gen 5 M90 is supposedly better than having a ported Gen 3.

As far as the tire pressure monitors, are you sure? On my GTP it lets you know when you have a tire going low, but there's no actual sensors for that. It just reads from the ABS sensors and picks up a difference in tire speed to decide if a tire is low. May be the same case there. My only suggestion would be listening for the S/C rattle at idle. That coupler likes to go bad. Picking one the nylon one from ZZP or Intense or wherever else has one, might not be a bad idea. And of course..... a bit smaller blower pulley certainly wouldnt hurt.

Uses à GTP wiring and pcm.

pre-97 uses M62

you have to change some part from the buick and put GTP one.

Thanks
