Suspension mods are very gratifying, even on 2200 slowboxes

Each of the mods listed above will help a little bit, but no bolt-on is going to make any significant gains(except boost or nitrous). The biggest restriction is in the head, it has small ports and valves. This was done intentionally to build low end torque for normal daily driving and feul efficiancey. Short of a full exhaust and the intake, the only way to mke alot more power is with head mods (port and polish, bigger valves, surfaced for more compression) and a camshft (good regrind). As you can see, to make a significant amout of power, you have to do some internal work.

As for the head, CarCustoms.net, JTuners.com, Team Vision Racing (ryne.com) and others can get you the Patriot Performance Head. If you have some one locally that can P&P, you can get the SI Valves 1mm oversized valves from CarCustoms.net. Just get a head from a salvage yard and get the machine work done, then install (or get installed) the head when it's ready.

As for the cam, get a good used cam from a salvage yard and have you favorite cam manufacturer regrind it. I've used Crane Cams, Comp Cams and Isky Racing Cams in the past with good results. They all have done regrinds on these cams. Call each company for more info and reccomendations.

Some of the things not listed above, that will help are a 2.3L throttle body swap and a set of Roller Rocker Arms. There are plenty of posts about the 2.3L TB swap, just use the search button. The link to the rocker arms is pretty much self-expanatory.

Some transmiision mods will help alot also, a higher stall torque converter, gears, shift kit(3sp) or B&M ShiftPlus and the Alto/Red Eagle Rebuild kit(3sp). These aren't bolt-ons (except for the ShiftPlus for the 4 sp auto) but they will help.

That build that Jack posted in the Power Record thread would do the trick, for an all-motor build. And there's always the inevitable boost, bottle, etc. But if you think you might do either one, make sure the cam grind is a goood match.
