i have a friend who is a professional welder/fabricator by trade. we are thinking of making an intake manifold. something to keep the stock throttle body location. possibly a square manifold with individual runners. is it really worth it to take the time to build this thing or is it just a waste of time and money. it will only cost me the sheet metal so it won't be too expensive, but am i going to see any real gain. and another benefit would be a nitrous port built in??
just curious before i spend a weekend on this project.
I don't know if it'd be a really good gain on your car, but i can assure you when i upgraded to a 2.3l manifold on my 2.4l, i could definately tell a difference, it sounded alot more throaty, i loved it! I'd say do it, sheet metal isn't that expensive, so it'd be a trial and error kind of deal. Remember: TAKE PICTURES OF THE BUILD!
NEW SIG COMING SOON FOR 07'!!!
Try it and if it doesn't help, sell it on ebay!!!

i got a question, i just got a turbo and intercooler from a friend he had a 2.0l engine and he gave me the turbo manifold for it but hes not sure if it will work on my car or not (i have the 2.4L) so what should i do with it should i sell the manifold and get one that fits or what?

that would be a Boost forum question.
On the manifold. I really don't think it would be worth your effort the stock manifold is capable of a lot of flow.
Your current mods are pretty close to what my car is running. The natural progression from here for more power would be tuning, and a turbocharger. Anything more you do isn't going to yeild great enough gains to make it work the time or money IMO

I am assuming you are talking about the 2.0 from a sunbird and that you have the LD9 (2.4 Twin Cam). They are completely different motors and the exhaust manifold bolt pattern is different. You can get a turbo log style manifold from
this guy
I have heard good things.
