360 engine and tranny...
Saturday, September 09, 2006 6:32 AM
Friend of mine gave me a 360 engine and tranny this week. Needs rebuilt but it's nothing I'm going to be doing anytime soon. I still have a while before I buy a new car as a daily driver. I'm also working on my truck, but nothing major, just fixing up things on it here and there. Once I have a different daily driver instead of my sunfire we were thinking about totally taking it apart and rebuilding it as streetrod around the 360 engine for @!#$s and giggles. I doubt it will work but after I rebuild the engine I think it would be fun to try. Even if it wound up not being possible, I'd still have a nice rebuilt engine to slap in something else.

why not rebuld it and trade the sunfire in for a dakota? you would need the 89 and up Dakota. The dakota is about size of mid size car but as a plus has a frame there are whole bunch of parts for them. poly bushings the front suspension, traction bars the axel can easily be changed out , or you keep it in add a limited slip for like 300 bucks. and to do the conversion

By a old Mopar for that motor. I assume it's a 727 tranny? Build up the motor and tranny, and stick it into a good mopar project. I'd look into a Dart, because they can be had for a pretty reasonable price. Also a fullsize or Dakota would be a good project.
