Now I understand why people on the JBO get so frustrated when someone comes along and asks a question about something that has been posted to death. The responses aren't personal it's just damn frustrating to see a question so basic that could have been answered by doing a simple search when you have been reading every post made in the last year or so about that same topic.

But anyway here's a freebe cause I've just spent three days reading most of the posts about "throttle" using the search function. The throttle body is designed to allow varying amounts of air into your intake manifold which feeds air into the engine through your intake valves, when they are open. The idea of doing the 2.3L TB swap is that it has a 56mm stock diameter and will fit onto your 2.4L (which has a 52mm TB) with minimal work. To my understanding the idea of having a bigger TB is to increase the engine's air flow; this should also trigger the injecters to pump more fuel because of the added air and will give you more HP. Keep in mind that enlarging your TB will move your power higher into the RPMs. The bigger TB you get the more you move your power into the upper RPMs and you're also losing low end torque at the same time. Darkfox at quad4forums has a cool thread where he has the opinon that the 56mm is just about perfect for street performance needs on the 2.4L when running a Natrually Aspirated setup.

If you are serious about modding you should already have or plan to get a do it yourself book for your car (get a Chilton cause Haynes is crap) then read it and learn.

Get a book, search the site, if you need to talk with someone call the parts department at your local dealership, junk yard, or retail automotive center they get paid to answer questions and help (of course they think you might buy something too).

By the way good luck with that 250HP - Hope I make it there too !!

Later....

What he said. The bigger the TB, the higher the power but the lower the torque. mounts to the intake mani. guesstamation of 5-10 hp depending on current mods. Check out Darkfox quad4forums. Read the manual.....Everything he said. (-pointing up-)

Dont get him wrong though. If you have a question, then ask it, but take the time to look around first before you take the easy way out. Thats what JBO is for right....?!

...They just HATE it when you ...POINT - LAUGH - then DRIVE OFF AND AWAY-!...
