I had a pacesetter but its finally snapped and one runner actually has a one inch by one inch hole in it. What I need now is a new header. I rather not go with another pacesetter so what would you guys suggest and as well do you have websites where I can order one
i would probley just go get a new pacesetter but this time get a ceramic coated header.
or get a rksport header or something.
it would also help if you had you profile filled out
so we know what motor you have.
Thanks,
Paul
make sure you have at least better motor mounts, because if you dont have the flex pipe there, things will break.
^^^ exactly
it doesnt matter if its armor coated or not, if the header flexes, under heat it will crack
get a flex pipe or stiffer mounts
OBXs seem to be decent for the price. I'm looking into one myself. Otherwise yeah the RK Sport header is really nice. Expensive, though, compared to the Pacesetter anyway. But hey you know what they say about the cost of quality.
Ya I have been looking at the RKsport header and it seems to be the best quality, the RSM header seems to be a pacesetter from the looks of it. As for the profile ya sorry I have a 98Z24 Black
I have motor mounts, strut tower brace, Intraxx springs KYB struts, Unorthodox underdrive pulley, 62mm throttle body, Feramic clutch, full exhaust, cold air intake, Zex kit... the last time I took it to the 1/4 mile track was with out the full exhaust and the cold air but with a 50 shot on drag radials I was hitting consistant 14.1's but as low as 13.93 on one run
Nice. Now *in my most commanding voice* Put that in your profile!!! LOL...
And I can't say from personal experience but mosty will likely tell you to avoid RSM like it's a Compton crack whore. But there's nothing wrong with a Pacesetter header as long as you have the ceramic coated one, and you have either really stiff motor mounts or a flex coupling. Personally, I'd recommend both. That pretty much eliminates the chance of it snapping from excess movement. It wouldn't hurd to have the welds reinforced if they're looking a little suspect, either. I had to do that with the welds on a Megan header that one of my friends had for his car. Good product, just had some sh*tty welds.
I would go with pacesetter again for basicac overall performance.... get stiffer motor mounts first... but yeah pacesetter is the best....

only 2.4 header i know that had any issues was 1 that was wraped with header wrap
header wrap = bad and slow painfull death of a header
ive had my header and several freinds on their 2.4 and no problems
theirs are the painted 1's mine is coated , we all have mounts too
pacesetter is good enough. get stiffer mounts. upper and lower
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
ha funny you said that about header wrap, mine was a pacesetter that was coated but then wrapped in header wrap. I rather not buy pacesetter again just because I didnt like the quality the first time I bought it, the only reason I did was because of the price. I originally looked at the Stans header but its crazy expensive, the RK is nice as well and its like half the price. Does anyone have the website addy for the Stans header.
No header wrap, it is really hard on it
Need engine mounts to stop the engine rock
pacesetter should not have any issues if you do the above
