2000 Z24 what should it dyno?
Monday, August 07, 2006 1:53 PM
Hello all I have had my 2000 Z24 about 8 months now I brought it with the following equipment on it OBX header, custom compression bent 2.5" catback and an cai. To which I have added upper & lower motor mounts, the reason for my question is the car accelerates very quickly and I'm wondering whether the previous owner installed the secret cams. I'm going to get the car dynoed in a few weeks and was wondering what a car with my mods should put down and also one with my mods & secret cams should put down so I'll know.
It's impossible for me to speak to the previous owner as I got the car from a used car lot.

2000 Z24 5spd header & catback for now.

A stock Z will put down around 130 whp...So with his stated mods, like Justin said: about 150 w/o cams and 160 w/ cams

I have a question for you Dale: Does the car pull harder the higher it revs, or does the acceleration feel smooth across the entire power band? If you answered yes to the first one, that would be a good indication of the cams (could also be an enlarged TB).

i agree with the 150 w/o cams and about 160 w/ cams. when i had a catback and the ho intake manifold and throttle body i put down 150hp and 151 tq at the wheels.
