i have been wondering if i am able to adjust my timing with simple modifcations such as resistors used in certain spots i.e. if you are running to rich you lean the system out using resistors in the from o2 sensor... the problem i am facing here is i want to be able to make it so that my timing is more advanced and i can get more power outa my 99 2200... i am trying to squeeze every ounce of power possible from this i have full exhaust full intake everything done except for the head... i am going to be doing the head soon... gasket matching that is... i am trying to see what i can do to really do everything i can and not leave any stone unturned.... the main problem also is all this bull about how obd2 cannot be tuned how is it that our computers cannot be tuned for performance when you have new 05-06 vettes and other trucks and v8's that have powerchips and hypertechs that can tune them for performance... i.e. play with the timing or putting in a lower thermastat so that it will stay cooler... i need answers and i figured i'd ask anyone on here for there knowledge...
i was talking about like "chipping" the computer.. type of thing.... just wondering if anyone has that stuff done...

Gasket matching isn't going to net you a whole lot. The real gains are in the the valve seat, bowl (area immediately below the valve seat, up to just past the valve guide boss) and short side radius. The intake runner is fine, the exhaust runner could use to be enlarged slightly to a closer match of the header's port. Don't get too extreme with the exhaust port, or you'll run into the water jacket and the head will be junk.
For more porting details see
Standard Abrasives Motorsports Head Porting Guide.
well you cant exactly chip our computers by pulling out the prom and putting a new one in but HPTuners is a way of chipping it only that with a full range of adjustments, and yes timing does come in those adjustments.
Also while you have that head off you might as well machine it, by getting a three-angle-job for around 100 bucks and a port and a polish for around 250 in that alone there will be big gains. the head is the bottle neck of the 2200, thats where all the power is lost. if ya got any more questions feel free to pm.
