ok so I put a custom cat back on its a 2.25" maderal bent with a straight through muffler and I'm seeing some major loss in between idle and 3k has anyone else seen or felt losses like this

you opened the exhaust, slowed exhaust velocity, hence you lost low end power.... many people do this, very common.
alot of this stuff is listed in the FAQ, but not many ever read it.

full exhaust has ALWAYS been where its at....
kinda like dressing up in a suit.... putting on ONLY the pants, wont really get you far... the whole suit will.
same for anything else performance.
