Same Question Different Day....

ok ladies and gents. while im waitng to find a gauge cluster for the swap i figured ill go ahead and buy an intake.
now i know that almost all intakes are the same, and theres no real perforamance gain, but its a bolt on and i figure it cant hurt.

for those who dont know my vehicle is a 99 cav. 2200 manual.

now im cruising ebay looking for an intake... but i want one that will remove the 2200 cover /airbox whatever it is... most wai i look at connect to the box/cover...

any help?

i kinda like this one:

if anyone could point me to a cheap intake 40-50-60 bucks shipped max. that removes the 2200 cover/box thing, it would be greatly appreciated.

Just remember cheap=low quality. And there's no way around that. You get what you pay for.
A CIA does provide some advantages, it's just they're so small that most people ignore them.
I mean, if you get an extra 1 HP out of it do you think you'd notice a <1% change?

^^i understand that but really how low quality can one pice of pipe be from another...

i understand that the filters are different thats why i plan of changing the filter to a k&n...

i personally kind of like this one too:

just not sure what the by air pass is used for?

the bypass is there in case the filter gets immersed in water. since water is heavier than air, the motor will suck in air through the bypass, and not suck in water through the main filter.

You answered the question yourself, how much better can one piece of pipe be than the next piece of pipe? Its an intake. They all do the same thing. Buy the cheapest one.
