I just put a new 2.4L motor in my Z24. Went to start it up, and it took a bit, which seems right since the motor was never started for months. After a while, it fired right up. It idles perfect. The A/F is right around 14.7 at idle. Then as soon as you hit the gas, the A/F goes lean and the motor sputters and dies. If you floor it, it will almost die, but then it will come back and go wide open. If you hit the gas VERY slowly, it will climb without dying. But any quick throttle response, and it dies. I have the GM S/C with the S/C injectors, and my pressure gauge on my fuel rail shows 60 psi almost all the time. What's wrong???

No, it's a '99. I never had the reflash when I had the old motor and it ran fine.

I didn't change a thing with the setup on the new motor compared to the old motor. The setup is EXACTLY the same. The only difference is I put the secret cams in the new motor. Otherwise the fuel setup, ignition setup, spark setup, its all the same and the old motor ran without this problem.

talked to brian- he said make sure the fuel injector wiring harness is plugged in all the way tight.
and check the fuel injector harness's also.

Well, problem solved. I disconnected the MAP sensor and then it ran just fine. So I plugged it in again, turned the car off, restarted, and then it seemed to be fine. Hopefully it stays that way.

I was thinking your throttle position sensor on your t/b.
