ok i found a 92 HO i want to take the cams out and put them in my 95 LO so what all do i need 1.cams 2.power steering pump3.HO chip any thing else
Swap the whole engine. You can do it really easily and you'll get the full power of the Ho.

2.3 Ho
1.yes i plan on it when i find the right gtz 2.but not from a u pick it u pull it junk yard 3.whos going to help me get it out of the car and in to a truck
4.are u? 5.i do not even know if any thing is wrong with it or if it even runs
he has a good point lol..still sucks to break apart what COULD be a good engine..but if you cant get it out of the car id forget about the cams and take the WHOLE HEAD....unless its not a 086
i would also grab the tranny..its pretty light and can be lifted by hand
do i just bolt the head on will it run like that or do i have to mod the heads to fit and run and why the tranny
well...you have a manual quad right? so the head will bolt right on with no mods cus you have the SAME block...so no problem there...also the tranny will bolt right up the same ..not to mention THAT tranny has a better gear ratio and is stronger all around..well..first make sure its the right one cus 92 was a transition year....look at the tranny and see if it has a front mount...if it only has ONE mount on top/rear you cant use it
its not hard to lower it out.. just did it to a 93 HO quad. compression test the engine if you are worried about it. its not an end all test but better than going blind. the trans is not heavy.. def a good find.
but to answer, yes grab the whole p/s setup as long as the steering rack is the lower setup (down near the axles) it should be a close swap as far as lines go. the 93 i saw had it high up so the lines where way off. also the motor was kinda torn up but the trans was good. its a great swap for the 95 guys, and not much worse for the 2.4 guys now either.
Sven you totally quarterloafed your computer..
well i wish i could get the tranny out but there is no way to jack up the car to get the engine or tranny it is siting in the middle of a mud puddle thats why i was going to just take the cams and what ever else thats on top that i can get out
sucks to hear dude
i would try to get them to put it on a forklift..you know they got one...and put it somewhere dry so you can strip it out
