whenever my car is at idle. it wants to die. i recently added a 250watt amp and sub. could this be the problem? i also went on a 2 1/2 week vcation and when i got back my batt was dead and it only started happening after that. i had the amp and sub before i went on vacation. it did it for about a day after i add them but then quit. i really need help.
my alt is fairly new. i was thinking it could be the computer since it only does it after losing power from the battery.
Get the battery checked. Is your amp staying on when you shut the car off?

the battery isnt even a year old. idk if the amp is staying on or not. should i get a switch for it? the amp is built into the sub tube and has no power switch.
Start the car, then disconnect one of the battery terminals while it is running. If the car stalls, the alternator is bad.
There should be a blue wire running from your head unit to the amp. This is the remote lead, it sends a short signal that turns the amp on and off. It's the same wire that would run a power antena when you turn the stereo on. It's easy enough to skip this wire and put a toggle switch in, but then you have to remember to turn it off.
the amp is built into the bass tube. it only had 4 wires (power, ground, and spkr wire)
i think that your amp is staying on. you might wanna try disconnecting your beats for a couple of days and see if your car is still doing it. if it is your going to have to run a switch to your amplifier to cut the power off cuz it sounds like its just raining the battery. if it still does it after you take out you beats you have a faulty batt or alt, remember that new doesnt mean good it just means new.
