its better before the "Y", right after the cat.

how quite do you want your exhuast? a 12" is good to mellow it a little, 14" will mellow it more, and 18" sounds like STOCK! lol

i had dual 12" glass packs as my mufflers, and you talk about UNCORKED! lol

also, make sure you get PREFORATED CORES!!! and not the standard glass packs!

so i guess the 24" body length is out. I'm just lookin for a nice low growl to the exhuast nothing raspy but a nice low smooth rummble to it like a V8 (of coarse i know it wont sound like one but it helps to dream)

where can i find a preforated core one at?

then go with the 12" PREFORTED CORE glass pack, it'll make it a little quiter, but you'll have that sound so people know you aint playing with stock pipes anymore!

try that, more of a option! they only come as small as 18" tho, which is quiter, but not as quite (you can also use them as mufflers too!)

18" sounds like stock? That all depends on how loud your mufflers are going to be in the first place. I have either a 24" or a 30" glasspack along with my Magnaflow and it is no where near stock sounding. I originally had a 12" and it was a joke. I can't remember if it is a 24" or a 30" since it has been 4 or 5 years since I got it installed.

why r u putting a glasspack with the muffler? why not go with just the glasspack if you want the "V8" sound? a glasspack with a muffler would sound quieter than stock.

You can go with just a glasspack as long as you use a long enough of one. A glasspack and an aftermarket "performance" muffler will in no way be nearly as quiet as stock. If it is, then you obviously had something wrong with your stock muffler.

The point of putting a glasspack on with an aftermarket muffler is to help mellow out the raspiness. Most straight through design mufflers will be raspy and/or harsh especially when cold. By putting on a glasspack it gets rid of that or at least muffles it enough to not be annoying.

We own 4 cyl's it'll never sound like a V8 ever.....
Go with this glasspack, its perforated, and cheap and excellent quality, also, bigger than 18" is better (mine's 20, and sounds really deep)

I beg to differ that one. I have a header back 2.25 exhaust with a magnaflow cat, to a 27 inch glass pack then to a straight thru muffler....... personally its still to loud.... Im planning on changing up the exhaust after I put my turbo on and IRS ( independant rear suspension). im plannin on 2.5 turbo back thru the longest glass pack i can get then to a dynomax turbo muffler.....

anything other then stock will never be as quiet plain and simple....

plese dont get the dynomax super turbo. i got one through summit for $160. i want it to sound louder than the stock muffler but it sounded stock. i only notice a difference between 1500 and 2000 rpms. if you want something that will perform and sound good, go with a flowmaster.

Perform? Thats not what Flowmaster is designed for, go with Magnaflow, Flowmaster is designed for the sound, and is very much restrictive.

Something like this http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=MPE%2D14829&N=4294923429+4294922711+4294922710+400636+4294788249+4294906128+4294906122+4294906130+4294906132+115&autoview =sku

up to you what you get, i am not a fan of some of those exhaust. SOmething more subtle with a nice tip3" max. THose hanging canister not very appealing. I have a 29" resonator and it is not stock. If you are worried about sound a straight through is going to be loud. I had a straight through muffler. It was nice for a while never liked the loud sound on the highway especially on a long trip use to drive me nuts. I switched my whole set up and got a Dynomax Supersturbo for a Camaro and it is nice. Can drive on the highway with no problems.

This is the muffler I'm running... I don't know for sure what the brand is, I got it for Christmas and the original box didn't come with it.

Based on research I've done, it matches closely to an APC muffler based on size, shape, etc.
