Ok,
Someone in my previous thread said that the black pacesetter header would rust... This is the one that you're talking about?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110011410853&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=001
I have heard good things about pacesetter on our cars... I am in the market for a header VERY soon, and just want to make the right decision.
Also, is welding onto ceramic coating easy to do, or not? I have a friend that is going to be doing the welding/install of this and has never welded onto ceramic coating...
Its either pacesetter or weaponR I am thinking now.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Chris
I have the header on my 02 2200, and it DOES rust, but thats nothing that some hi-temp paint cant sure.... and it gave quite a big performance gain, id go with pacesetter for performance if i were to do it again, only i would get the ceramic coated header this time.
dont get that painted header! please! Get a polished ceramic coated header. if its painte ... i beleive its not ceramic coated ... it will just end up like your stock one. it will burt off the paint and have it start rusting.
i dont understand why you would need to weld anything? the 02 bong shoulkd be already in there, just need bolts and gaskets ... all which come with it.
from thr info i got from the ebay thing ... you have an ecotec? if so go to here for what im talking about ... you might be able to find cheaper but this is what you will be looking for.

if anything contact Jason from Aplusperformance he might be able to hook you up for cheaper.
And before I order this... It is the polished ARMOR coated one I want, correct?
c.
yes well if you want eather off go ahead its the one i would want just due to the fact they last a crap load longer then any other and its shinny lol
Thanks man!
Also, I want to get rid of my existing exhaust, thats why I was talking about welding... I would like to run a straight pipe, ending with some type of muffler, but I think that would be too loud.
Would I have ANY power gain if I kept my existing cat, piping, muffler?
if you want to go all out and still legal emissions ... get a high flow cat from the same site ... or here ...
http://www.turbotechracing.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=510&idproduct=2708
also i would personally get a 24" long 5X8 oval muffler with 2 1/4 inch in and out ... and then add a tip of your choosing to it.
you can go no cat but our engines perform nicly with back preasure. which is were the cat will help! if you get a 24" long, straight threw muffler from magnaflow (a local muffler shop can get you one) will quiet the thing down and keep the unwanted noises away. if you go no cat ... i would get a resonator ... 18". Now the 24" will be a little loader the stock not much but still a little loader. go to a 18" long muffler it will be a louder. if you go 14 to me its to load and it sounds like hondas running around.
This way you can choose a tip you want if you go this way ... and it will sound nice! no fart cans in the back. i would recamend 2 1/4" tubign all the way back but you could get away with 2 1/2" no problem. the reason i would go 2 1/4 is just because your N/A and again back preasure is our motors friend.
you will see gains if you go get all of those things!

Please do not give out misinformation.....backpressure is bad no matter what. one thing the cat does is keep the exhaust gases hotter for longer, therefore increasing the VELOCITY, while at the same time keeping our air quite a bit cleaner.
Ill make a sig someday
