alright, most of you know that i sold the cavalier to a local buddy of mine.. put everything back to stock even the right down to the airbox.. problem is, that it is loading up thru the low RPM range and black smoke is pouring out the exhuast, car is loading up with fuel until the 3000ish RPM range where it clears out an pulls like a stock cav 2.4 should. we have replaced a decent number of parts on the car while trying to figure out why it might be loading up...
parts replaced:
-ecm
-stock reflash
-fuel pressure regulator
-throttle position sensor
-idle air control motor
only thing is the TPS is supposed to read 0.0 volts an we are still getting 1.0 volt... possibly bad throttle body?
all parts are either from GM themselve, or Standard which ive had pretty good luck with.
any help, ideas, ANYTHING would be appreciated because not only is my dad's garage stuck working on this thing, but we are barely getting paid to do any of it and its taking up crazy amounts of my dad's service garage time........... thanks guys

did you put the stock injectors in ?? not on your list is why i ask
tps at idle is susposed to be .45 or around there , higher voltage makes the pcm think the throttle body is open farther requiring more fuel
also pull the injectors , leaving them attached to the fuel rail , and pressureize the system and see if 1 of the injectors is stuck open
stock injectors were put back in..
injectors were pressurized.. they were all fine
only thing we can think of now is that the ecm wasnt reflashed properly, so we have another one coming (gunna send the old one back as defective), an we are going to do the flash ourselves with our Tech2.... well see where this brings us now
thanks man

are you reflashing the pcm to the vin for the car with out the s/c ?
the tech 2 has to get its info from a GM system off the internet
the pcm has been programed with the exact vin #
and yes, our tech 2 is hooked up to the internet.. we have all the capabilities as any GM dealer has, their programs, software, accessories..etc
we did the new pcm and it doesnt seem to be loading up at all anymore so we possibly got a defective one to start with.. everything seems dialed in correctly (02's, fuel curve, tps, etc) it hesitates sometimes but i think the plugs just need to be changed after the kid driving it so long loading up...
ill keep this post updated, the kid just left with the car about an hour or so ago an no problems yet
thanks man

cool
so howd you guys manage to get axcess to GM's stuff ??
^^^ Been trying ti figure that out myself.
rhode island's Tech2 dealer sells it all.. just usually cost around 5 g's for everything. gives you access to all GM's online programs like Alldata, iTan, etc
