i want to change up the front of my 2002 LS Sport cavy. i plan on going turboed in like 2 years if i get the fundings for it, so im looking into as much of this as possible. ive read the ecotec maniold is the one and only thast like it. the tbs from the 2.3 wont fit, nor will the 2200, 2.2 or the 2.4 tb's so this is the thing i was thinking of.
i want to custom make a 2.3 style manifold for my 2.2 eco. just because i love the flow of it and i wont have charge pipes with a wierd ugly connector on top. so the end question is ... can any one help me deside what i need to do to make the higher performance intake manifold for my eco?
i know i need the same runners, but will leangth matter?
can i just us ... a spare stock intake mainfold steal the tb plate (or make my own) get a intake flange (hoping to dear lord i can find a company that already has them for the 2.2 eco) and make my own 2.3 style manifold?
can any one help me with this?
yes you can make one, its time consuming, but it can be done, you'll be the intake manifold flange, TB flange, and yes runner length makes a difference!!!!
also doesnt the injectors run off the intake manifold? if they do, you'll have to account for them into the new design.

ok any other help? im looking to find anything and everything i can here. i think i read in a modified mag a while back with a car that had long runners was designed for more torque? this true or fdo i have it backwards?
its time consumming yes i know lol modifying a car is time consuming lol
ok, intake flange, any one know were i can get one? i think i could make a tb flange not all the hard on that one.
does any one know what size tubing to use, if i should make it kind of oval to accomidat the size of the ports?
for the tube that will connect the tb adn the runners to ... does it matter the size of this? prbly 3 -3 1/2? do i need to worry about anything else other then connecting the tb the tube and the runners? anything misc.?
i can find out if some one hasn't already helped out with that about the injectors.
thanks for everything guys ... im new to the ecotec ... now a little bit but still new to it. im use to my puny 2200 engine.
you will most likely have to custom cut your own intake flange.

ok i found an aluminum intake flange from mantapart.com but now i need to find out who can get mandrel 180 degree bend tubing probly 2" possibly a little smaller.
any one know were that could be found?
i only see 90 degree bends
i guess i could fab two 90 degrees up for the 180 degree. thanks for that! theres a store close to me to!
make sure you post pics when your building this thing!
cuz i'ma have a custom intale manifold made for my 2200

i dont think i can get aluminized steel to weld to an aluminum flange.
