I just spent the last couple hours in the junkyard looking around to see what they had for V6 J's. I saw several cars (non J) with 3300's... are they any good for swaps or are they junk motors. There were at least 3 Zs with the 2.8 and 3.1s, I dont know what to do. Whether to just do a bolt in 3.1 or have some fun with the 3800, or maybe this 3300. Any suggestions?

3300 stay away they are quick but their tranys were auto and they sucked. Stick either 2.8 or 3.1. 3800 is a stable motor so is the 3.1/2.8 motor. Alot of people with the 2.8/3.1 swap some parts from the newer 3400.
Any of these motors would be an improvent. Ask the 1st &2nd gens they have alot of experience wit the 2.8/3.1/3.4 motors making them screem. And the 3.8 ask around for raven he has alot invested in his 3800sc he could give you a lot of pointers on this block.
the 3300 and 3000 are smaller versions of the 3800
oh ok.... thanks guys
