so im going to the dyno on saturday, and i have had a hard time on them before. the main problem is the fact that it doesnt stay in one gear. last time we put it in second and brought the rpm up until it shifted then went from there.
so i want to know if i can get around this, and which gear is the best to do the run in..im also planning on doing a run with nitrous.
any tips

Ok my experience one a dyno....
Put trans in third gear.
Slowly accelerate to around 63 or 65 mph.
Ensure your in third gear.
Ensure RPMs are over 3800.
When this happens and dyno guy is ready "floor it" and it
SHOULD not down shift into a lower gear.
Also have him hook the tach signal senor to the PINK wire going to the IDI cover.
On a side note I never made it to red-line. I hit the speed limiter first. I did make it to 5850 rpms on average.
So you do not want to be spraying when you hit the speed limiter just make sure you get out of it before than.
We don't need another J blowing up on the dyno!
Have Fun I sure did!

the place i dyno'd mine , did it through 2 gears , starting about 30-40 in 2nd gear
it worked out pretty good
HPtuners scanner has a feature that looks like you can manually select the gear the tranny is in, havn't tried it as I don't have an auto, or been to the dyno, but maybe someone who has had a chance to play with it can comment.
15.3 @ 89.97mph, 14's on the way?
if he has hptuners then he can make it shift to to 3rd gear really soon... just change the shift points and mphs.... i have not seen the option to change to a specific gear, that would be cool though
