Throttle Body

Hey, I'm new and I've got a stock 2.4L, and was going to get an intake and a full exhaust. What kind of gains could I expect from a 56mm throttle body and is it worth it? I was also thinking about running nitrous too.

if you want an over-sized TB, get bigger then 56mm.

i bought a 59mm and im currently building an all motor car. i dont have a header yet, but just adding the TB to the intake i already had helped A LOT.

huge gains up high....so with a header/exhaust it would be even better! i love the hissing noise the TB makes now.

look on ebay, you can find good deals. i found mine barely used for 70$ shipped for a bored and port/polished 59mm TB. takes about 15 minutes to install.

good luck.

would the throttle body off the ecotec fit on the 2.4 without modification?

no

just get your stock TB bored out to 59 mm. the intake manifold is roughly 59 mm anyways. no bottle neck

I think the stock manifold is 57mm (the hole), anything bigger N/A with a 56mm will loose power, dont go much higher than that with a 2.4L
