I know at least one guy has it, be interesting to dyno whether there is really a gain
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
Kit isnt listed becasue it's special order only. $175 a kit + $50 core charge. Only like 5 kits have been made to this point and as far as I know noone has done a before and after dyno. One person claims a 0.3 gain in the quarter though. Personally I did too many things at once to know if there was a gain. Car revs faster though and feels more responsive. Only downside is engine braking is reduced.
i have it on mine and like said i never did a before and after dyno but its unmistakably faster and revs faster especially in the upper rpms, its well worth the money IMO

that could also be apart of your imagination. Not meaning to put you down or anything, but most of the people out there that work on cars do something that will make a slight change in performance or none at all and becuase they've done all this work take it out for a test drive and imagine the car being a slight bit faster. in reality a good portion of the time it is, however there are lots of times it isnt.
Sorry but i call this a farce untill i see a proven before and after dynosheet with that being the ONLY mod. by doing this ballance shaft delete kit isnt this just taking the ballance shafts and putting in a tube? you still have extra rotating mass, and its not like the 2.3L pump swap for the twin cams, your not actually getting rid of much.
imo level zero is a bunch of amatures, i prepare to put on the flame suit for this, but after seeing and expirincing first hand all the bull@!#$ from them they suck!

You should do your research before you spout off. Not meaning to put you down or anything.
The delete kit removes 4.5lbs form the rotating assembly. That would be what makes it a delete kit and not nautral shafts. Thats 4.5 lbs that spins at twice the rpm of the crank. Granted everyone that has installed the kit may be imagining the gains, but I find that highly doubtful.
As far as being amatures ... maybe but they also have had a hand in building a few of the cars on the top 10 lists. Not to mention also helping some of the guys that are truely pushing the limits of the Ecotec engine. There is also a chance that the bull@!#$ that you have experienced with them is due in part to yourself.
I would love to see a before and after dyno. This is exactly like the whole lightened flywhee debate. For every person/company that says to makes horsepoer there are just as many that say it doesn't. Meh ..... time to go review datalogs.
balance shaft deletes on both the 2.4 LD9 and the old Chrysler 2.2/2.5 Turbos showed dyno gains... why wouldn't an eco? How much is a different story but i bet the gain would be as much or more than an intake which is right around the same price so its not like you're getting ripped off. 4.5 lbs off the rotating assembly is a lot of weight, especially since it was spinning at x2 rpm.

for one, i wasnt "spouting off". Well then alright, last i heard they were just neutral shafts. good to hear that its actually worth the cash for a good mod. And yes you may feel a 5hp gain, then again you may also "feel" that 5hp gain to be something that you think is 20hp when in reality its way smaller. was just stating something from the other side of the spectrum on this thats all.
I dont care if LZM built all of the top 10 cars on the list, they are a bunch of hosers. Havent Delt with them in a year now so who knows they may be getting better and hope they do, seems like they put enough effort into it. None of my "agrivation" has been caused by myself ither. It has all come from the @!#$ LZM has sold in the past and the over priced waist of money that it was. enough about them though, you want to deal with them, go for it.
A before and after dyno would be a great thing! We dont see much for "proof" in the jbody scene. A good portion of the mods around here are simple here-say unless someone has dont at track tests, then again that could be "exadurated" also.

yeah, my bud had a set of ecotec cams from LZM.... i can't imagine the run around he got because his car wouldnt run with them! just a bunch of basement mechanics

most likely due to installation error. I have stage 2 LZM cams, installed and timed myself. I throw ZERO codes and dyno'd before and after for an 9hp gain. Not as much as they claim, but for only paying 200 bucks on ebay for them, im not complaining.
wow... lol, i didnt expect to see this many responses.... a few questions
neutral shafts ... better or worse then the delete kit? how much rotating mass do the neutral shafts remove? I was thinking that those would be better because they go for 400 bucks from gm

company..... i emailed them yesterday... still no response ?? they should atleast post it up on their site as an item, with a price... i didnt even know they made this until i read it here on jbo... and i didnt know the price until i read livid's post...
livid.... do you have an affiliation with them? Im just asking because you were defending them alot...
thanks guys for the input

neutral shafts are a waist of time and money.

Funny, the fastest all motor Ecotec that gets driven daily was built by LZM... and it has those old camshafts and the BS delete kit.
i will back them on the camshaft issue, the reason peonple have troubles with them is because if incorrect install or not understanding how to correct the problem. i have stage 2 cams in my car from JBP, which are basically the same grind as LZM and i have no code issues ever, yes ive had to trick the ECU a bit but its all part of tuning. and if you do everything correctly like use HPT and retune everything to fit there would be no issues with any cam

nick definatly doesnt have any codes... runs great too

Anybody else have these?
Happy with them for price?
04eco (theN/Aautoone) , Any problems with bearing wearing? (lol)
Problems at all?
I have it and love it...but according to Manitoba Motorsports it's all my imagination. They must be destroying my motor because I think they're helping it, at least that's his logic.
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

When you rebuilt your motor, did you replace the bearings that go with the balance shafts?
Do you have a lot of miles on them?
They seem great, but I don't want to have a costly repair 500 miles after they're installed.
sorry to ask a newbish question, but i searched and i didnt find a thing, what the hell do the balance shafts do anyways??
many changes in the making
my favorite part about doing bodywork,.......... bondo bugers
ive got about 35000 miles on my motor now since i did the balance shaft delete and its still running fine no oil pressure issues, no out of the ordinary vibrations cant tell the difference from when i origanally did it
