I was thinking about putting in a lightwieght flywheel in. I have heard some bad things about doing it. Like it can mess up the engine and you need to have it reved up all the time cause it wont keep momentum as well as a stock flywheel. Anyone got one and what results have you seen from it.
thanks
there are plaenty of people driving around with them on daily driviers i havent heard of any problems. yet....

i have the fidanza flywheel...
awesome mod.. i love it.. the car accelerates damn fast
if people complain they can't keep the engine revved inbetween shifts its cuz they can't drive
it does take getting used to however... i have a grabby clutch, and with the light flywheel its easier to stall, but once you get used to the initial sensitivity you'll appreciate the loss in reciprocating weight... ie: more power
I have a spec alum flywheel in my car. It definatly opens up alot of torque but kills your top end. Its awesome for auto x'ing and quick launches and such but i have had bad lucjk with mine on the highway. I have plenty of bolt on mods done to my car and I have run a 15.1 in the quarter mile but on the highway I get beat easily. Only time its good for racing is in a off the line race.
I think the spec alum flywheel wieghts in at around 7 lbs so it may not be as bad as the fidanza if it wieghts 9.5 but still wont have the same top end potential if you stick with the stock one.
